A COMMUNITY NURSE ROLE
An 80-year-old man is a long-time farmer. He owns 15 head of cattle, which he milks every day. He has type 2 diabetes, controlled by diet and oral medication. He has failing eyesight and has increasing difficulty reading his medication bottles. He shares these problems with the Community Nurse. She encourages him to transfer his prescriptions to a pharmacy that will fill his pillboxes and deliver them to his door.
